The Colombian Navy in joint river operations with troops of the National Army, attached to the Joint Task Force Titan, assisted the surrender to justice of an alleged member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO,  Clan del Golfo, in the department of Chocó.

The permanent security operations and the continuous work of then Navy Infantry Units on the Atrato River, in a rural area of the municipality of Quibdó - department of Chocó, led to the surrender to justice of the individual alias Catalina, who allegedly served as head of security and right hand of alias Chacal, second ringleader of the Carlos Vásquez substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo.

This man, noticing the work of the Colombian Navy Units in the area, approached the troops expressing his willingness to start a life in legality and, in the same way, indicating that he would have five years in the service of this organization outlaw.

Immediately, communication was established with the Attorney General's Office, the Ombudsman's Office and the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized, in order to carry out the relevant judicial coordination and start the route of return to legality.
