Military forces intercept boat in which two foreigners were transporting illegal merchandise with narcotics

The Colombian Navy, together with the Colombian Air Force and in coordination with the National Police (DIJIN), found 496 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 9.4 kilograms of marijuana in a boat in the sector of Bahía Honda, department of La Guajira.

 

This finding took place due to the important information, which led to the detailed follow-up by a Colombian Air Force aircraft and the timely reaction of the Coast Guard crew of Puerto Bolívar, who through a maritime interception operation find the boat 27 nautical miles north of Bahía Honda, La Guajira, with two individuals on board, one from Venezuela and one from Dominican nationality, respectively.

 

Inside were found by troops 19 sacks containing 515 rectangular packages of allegedly illicit substance.

 

The boat was transported to the main pier of the coast Guard Station in Puerto Bolivar, where officials of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation -DIJIN-carried out the Tests for Preliminary Identification, leaving positive result for 496 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 9.4 kilograms of marijuana, then the individuals and the illegal merchandise were transported to Riohacha with the support of the National Army and were put into custody of the authorities.

 

This result represents a blow of more than 17 million dollars to the financial structures of the criminal organization Clan del Indio, which has interference and criminal operation in the Upper Guajira.
