Military forces neutralized 12 laboratories used for drug production

On the shores of the Putumayo and Caquetá Rivers, members of the Military Forces and the Attorney General's Office found and destroyed, in controlled conditions, 12 laboratories used for the production of coca-based paste.

The operations were carried out in different locations in the departments of Putumayo, Caquetá, Meta and Guaviare by joint, coordinated and interagency operations conducted by the Colombian Navy, troops of the Joint Task Force Omega, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, which maintain consistent operations against drug trafficking groups that commit crimes in the south-east of the country.

With the destruction of these illegal infrastructures and the seizure of 1,681 gallons of liquid supplies, 1,632 kilograms of solid supplies and 555 kilograms of coca leaf -supplies used for the production of narcotics- the finances of these criminal groups are directly hit. Their capacity to threaten civilians is reduced and the environmental impact that occurs in these places, due to the use of toxic chemicals, is reduced.
