In a firm exercise of sovereignty and territorial control, the General Command of the Military Forces presented the results of the maneuvers executed conducted by January 19 and 25, 2026. Under a strategy of constant pressure, the units in the country have managed to dismantle logistical and armed resources of various groups outlaw.
"As we have announced to the country the last week, the military deployment is being reinforced and the operation is ongoing," said General Hugo Alejandro López Barreto, Commander General of the Military Forces, highlighting the effectiveness of the land, sea, river and air components in this period.
The figures consolidated over seven days, from January 19 to 25, reflect the degradation of criminal structures on multiple fronts:
Neutralization of the threats: 114 losses of members of Organized Armed Groups (GAO) and the recovery of two minors, who were put under State protection. In the fight against terrorism, 31 firearms were found by troops, preventing future criminal acts against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
Drug trafficking: The blow to illicit finances includes the finding of 1,719 kilograms of narcotics and the dismantling of 32 illegal laboratories dedicated to the production of drugs.
Natural resources: In military operations against illegal mining, 14 arrests were made and 78 gallons of fuel were seized, protecting strategic ecosystems.
As for the powerful blows carried out in the last few hours, added to the weekly report, the recent operations have left tactical victories in critical points of the national geography: in the department of Meta and Norte de Santander and in the southwest of the country:
In the municipality of Vista Hermosa (Meta), troops of the Omega Joint Task Force dealt a direct blow to the faction of alias Calarcá, neutralizing two members of the Marco Aurelio Buendía structure.
Simultaneously, the Army's Second Division arrested three members of the GAO-residual Structure 33 in Tibú (Norte de Santander). The individuals, specialized in extortion and intimidation, was carrying war items and cash. In this same Catatumbo region, explosives experts neutralized mined areas in El Tarra and Teorama, while an ELN coca-growing complex, valued at 300 million pesos, was dismantled.
Meanwhile, in the department of Cauca, it was possible to arrest two alleged members of the Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz structure. Among them, alias Pirulo stands out, accused of drug trafficking, of coordinating armed and logistical acts, in addition to intimidating and generating fear in the communities.
