These military operations safeguard the property, life, tranquility, wellbeing and progress of the inhabitants of this region of the country.

Over the weekend, troops of the Joint Task Force Omega, in military operations in south of the department of Meta, accomplished important results against crime.

Initially, soldiers of the Ground Operations Battalion No.6, through information provided by the Civic Participation Network of the region, recovered nine bovine animals and a Dodge truck, apparently belonging to common crime in the village of Puerto Lucas, in the municipality of Vista Hermosa. This hits the theft of farm animals.

Meanwhile, troops of this same Military Unit in the village of Termales de Vista Hermosa, through search and area military control, found two improvised explosive devices of cylindrical shape in a metal container, which were destroyed in a controlled manner by the expert personnel after the authorization provided by the Attorney General’s Office and the Operational Group of Criminal Investigation (GROIC) of the National Police.

Finally, in the sector known as Caño Tigre, in the municipality of Uribe, soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Force No.1 (FUDRA1) found an illegal hideout. There was inside a Smith Wesson revolver-type weapon, a cut-out rifle magazine, two hand grenades, military material and supplies used to provide first aid.
