During 2019, 20 children have been disengaged of illegal groups and given to the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute in this region of the country for the restoration of their rights.
In joint and inter-institutional military operations conducted by troops of the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) judicial support of the Prosecutor's Office it was possible to strike a major blow to the front 'Domingo Laín Sáenz' of the Eln with the capture of two of its members and the recovery of a minor who had been illegally recruited by this terrorist group in the department of Arauca.
The work done for more than two months by the troops of the Eighteenth Brigade, left information for the infiltration maneuvers carried out in aircraft of the National Army and the Colombian Air Force, which resulted in the capture in the San Miguel village, of the municipality of Arauquita, of two members of the “Camilo Cien Fuegos” Group of the del Eln, in charge of leading, planning and executing attacks against petroleum pipelines and police stations in Fortul, Arauquita and Saravena, as well as the collection of money from extortions made against farmers and merchants
In the military operation a rifle, two guns, seven magazines, 166 cartridges of different caliber, uniforms of exclusive use of the Security forces and bracelets alluding to the Organized Armed Group were found; materials that together with those captured, were put into custody of the authorities.
