Through this initiative, it seeks to benefit 738 people by strengthening local productive chains and increasing the visibility of regional services
It is expected to transport about 2,380 kilograms of cashew nuts on the Puerto Carreño-Bogotá route
Thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force, which had differential means and resources, work is underway to collect and transport 940 kilograms of cashew nuts and 500 kilograms of honey from Puerto Carreño, department of Vichada, to Bogotá, in order to strengthen the economic and social development of the region.
For the multimodal transport of this cargo was sent from a Combat Logistics Patrol -PLC- attached to the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.51 and of a C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Colombian Aerospace Force, in order to transport these products collected and harvested by the productive groups of beekeepers and cashew nuts growers of the department, within the framework of the differential project Alliance for a Visible Commercialization of the Vichada Product.
These operations, which contribute to the well-being, quality of life and visibility of local productive services, have benefited about 738 people thanks to the active participation of the community, in coordination with the Vichada Governorate, the Mayor's Office of Puerto Carreño, the San Juan de Dios Hospital, the National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance -INVIMA- and the Colombian Military Forces.
The Colombian Navy, through the Naval Force of the Orinoquia, will continue to have its river and Ground Combat Battalion means for the benefit of the community, while reaffirming its commitment to the productive groups of farmers and beekeepers of the Orinoquia region, promoting initiatives that strengthen human security, the regional economy and institutional trust in the department of Vichada.
