The Specific Command of San Andr茅s and Providencia, is in maximum preparation in order to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the Archipelago department after the special communiqu茅 05 issued by the Technical Bureau of Warning for Tropical Cyclones, which indicates the activity of a tropical wave with a probability of cyclonic formation to the east of the Caribbean Sea.
Units of the Colombian Navy in this area of the country through the Navy Infantry Battalion No. 11, Coast Guard Station of San Andr茅s, as well as the Caribbean Air Group and the Army Component, are in the maximum degree of preventive preparation in order to work for the safety of the inhabitants.
This potential cyclonic formation will cause scattered rains, an increase in wind speed and an increase in the height of the waves, influencing maritime activities. At the moment, the insular region is in a state of surveillance, therefore, the institutions that are part of the National Risk Management System are constantly active in their protocols, contingency plans and follow-up operations.
