This individual had an arrest warrant for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of extortion and homicide.
Within the framework of coordinated operations, soldiers of the Military Gaula of Norte de Santander and DIJIN of the National Police arrested the individual known as Barbas, alleged ringleader of the organized gang Pelusos, in Ocaña, Norte de Santander.
Alias Barbas, according to the authorities, would have had a criminal experience of more than 8 years in this criminal group, in April this year, after the arrest of alias Cementerio, he would have assumed Cementerio’s position.
This individual is allegedly directing and participating in armed confrontations with other illegal armed groups for the control of the criminal income and the collection of money from extortion against, kidnappings and drug trafficking.
Barbas was put into custody of the authorities for the respective prosecution. In this way, the National Army continues to work in a coordinated manner, to contribute to the security of Norte de Santander.
