The individual was arrested in a hotel in the urban area of the municipality of Trinidad, while carrying out extortion through telephone calls and instant messaging apps.
Within the framework of military operations and thanks to the joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work with the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Casanare dealt an important blow against the criminal structures that commit crimes in the department.
In the urban area of Trinidad, two individuals allegedly linked to the gang known as Renacer ERPAC were arrested. Among them is alias Polaco arrested by court order, accused of being the alleged coordinator of the network of hitmen of this structure, wanted for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes for extortion purposes, terrorism and illegal carrying of weapons. It was in the same way arrested in flagrante delicto, alias Carlos, for carrying and trafficking firearms.
During the operation, a revolver, 33 cartridges and 2 cell phones were seized, elements that were put into custody of the authorities to conduct the prosecution process.
Through these arrests, the military and financial operations capacity of this criminal organization, which was repeatedly committing crimes in the municipalities of Maní, Trinidad, Villanueva and Monterrey, is directly impacted; in the same way, the risk of extortions, kidnappings and selective homicides in the department of Casanare is mitigated.
