Troops of the Caribbean Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, obtained the arrest of 10 members of the Organized Gang, GDO, Los Costeños.
In the La Loma neighborhood of the municipality of Soledad, in the department of Atlantico, an anti-extortion procedure was conducted to carry out raids and subsequently arrests by court order of some of these individuals.
According to the investigation carried out, those arrested were responsible for carrying out extortion in different sectors of Soledad and part of the city of Barranquilla, through pamphlets and calls in which, through intimidation and threats, they collected money from extortion against merchants in the region.
It should be noted that four cell phones, a notebook, a traumatic pistol, a magazine and eight cartridges were found by troops within the operation.
In the same way, the Military Gaula – Antioquia, in interinstitutional work with Gaula of the Police and simultaneously in Medellín, Santa Fe, Helicona and Caicedo, in Antioquia, made eight arrests of members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, of the Edwin Roman Velázquez Valle substructure, for the crimes of extortion, association to commit crimes and narcotics trafficking.
With these results troops diminish and hit significantly the illicit activities of criminal structures, who are looking through the offence of extortion attract money and generate fear in the community; 51 arrests for extortion, 28 for kidnapping, 22 for other crimes in the 41-tactical missions carried out last week are samples of efficiency.
