Five members of the Common Crime Group Los Mexicanos were arrested in the municipality of Quibdó.
In a joint operation conducted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Department of Chocó, the Police Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI, through intelligence and prosecution, it was possible to weaken this criminal organization.
Those arrested would be responsible for collecting money from extortions against different productive groups in the region through threats, pamphlets, shots and grenades thrown at merchants' houses, in order to pressure the payment of money.
Other operation to highlight was made by the Military Gaula Bolívar, in coordination with the Gaula of the Police, they arrested in flagrante delicto three individuals of Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, of the substructure Heroes del Caribe in two operations in Cartagena. The first, in a service station on public roads on Mamonal Avenue, where two individuals (one Colombian and the other Venezuelan) intended to receive from the victim $2,000,000 COP in exchange for not attacking his good physical condition; and in the second mission executed in the neighborhood 13 de Junio, the third offender demanded $200,000 from a citizen to allow him to work and not hurt him.
In the same way, the Military Gaula - Caquetá, with the support of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), arrested by court order an individual apparently of common crime, who was wanted by the Colombian justice for the crime of extortion, because he was intimidating society with monetary extortions ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000 for not harming their businesses and their families.
Without a pause and in the framework of the campaign #YoNoPagoYoDenuncio men of Military Gaula work in the Colombian territory, to directly fight the crimes of kidnapping and extortion, and encouraging people to report this type of cases through the toll-free line 147, where they will receive ongoing care.
