During the last 15 days of July 2021, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), through the 48 tactical missions, have significantly weakened criminal structures, especially those who perpetrate the crimes of kidnapping and extortion.
In carrying out their planned and coordinated operations with the Judicial Police components of the Attorney General's Office, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) arrest 41 individuals for the crime of extortion, seven for kidnapping and 44 for other crimes.
For this same period and thanks to the rapid operation of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) it was possible to rescue a Colombian - U.S. citizen, a kidnapping was thwarted and the people stopped paying for the crime of kidnapping $140,000,000 COP and for extortion $21,490,000 COP.
One of the operations to be highlighted is the one carried out by the Military Gaula - Magdalena, who managed to rescue Ms. Alexandra Pineda Muñoz, a Colombian-U,S, citizen, a sea researcher biologist, who had been reported missing since May 28 of this year; individuals demanded $15,000,000 COP for her release.
In the same way, in other operation carried out by the Military Gaula - Meta it was possible to arrest six members of the Organized Gang, GDO, Puntilleros Gang, who were wanted by the Colombian justice for the crime of extortion; at the time of their arrest they had an MP5 type weapon, a pistol, 140 9 mm cartridges, 11 magazines for pistols and MP5, two fragmentation grenades, 16 communication radios, 14 cell phones, a van type vehicle and a motorcycle.
For its part, the Military Gaula - Putumayo, reported the voluntary surrender of alias Chiki, member of GAO residual, Structure 48 and the Military Gaula – Ariari, managed to arrest four members of common criminality for the crime of simple kidnapping.
With these decisive blows, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) weaken the criminal operations of the organized armed groups and leave behind bars many criminals who violated the freedom of the people and putting at risk their patrimony.
