Military Gaula dismantled the group "El Indio", accused of kidnapping and trafficking of counterfeit currency

With their modus operandi they would have obtained more than $ 1,400 million from their victims.

 

The criminals were caught in flagrante delicto receiving $ 400 million from a citizen.

 

Cundinamarca. A heavy blow was dealt to the group "El Indio", which kidnapped people and swindled in the country. This blow is the work of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Cundinamarca, of the 13th Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Nation. It is a group of four individuals who were in charge to exchange false currencies and kidnapped their victims to steal millionaire sums of money.

 

The individuals were looking for merchants to tell them that they had found an illegal Farc’s hideout full of dollars and that they would exchange them at half the price. So they took the victim to a farm where they showed him / her the supposed money that in fact the fake bills. They proceeded to give a pair of real bills to check them in their houses; later when they were going to make the exchange in the rural property, they tied the victim and stole the millionaire sum.

 

In this modus operandi they intended to obtain $ 400 million pesos again, but at the time of the exchange they found an operation of the National Army, where in addition to capture the four individuals, they found a revolver 38-mm, a 9mm a blank gun and a vehicle.

 

This group would have defrauded several people with the same method for more than $ 1,400 million pesos, who with their timely report and information on the toll-free number 147 helped prevent these cases.
