This woman would be the one who was menacing the merchants of this municipality by extortion calls.
In the last few hours, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima, of the Sixth Brigade, arrested a woman for the alleged crime of extortion in the municipality of Lérida. For several months, she was menacing merchants in this northern part of the department.
This woman is accused of carrying out extortion by means of telephone calls, posing as a member of the Military Forces and telling the victim that she had a family member arrested; and so, in order to set the relative free, it was necessary for the family to give large sums of money.
The woman was put into custody of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office No. 81 delegated to the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), for the alleged crime of extortion.
Thanks to the denunciation, it was possible to make this arrest, the Sixth Brigade, encourages the inhabitants on denouncing situations like this through the toll-free line 147 of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima.
