This result complements the more than 18 arrests made by the Tenth Brigade in the last 10 days in Valledupar.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers of the 70th Engineer Battalion of the Tenth Brigade, in the La Casona sector, of the Montañita village, in Valledupar, department of Cesar, after the heavy faire fight, reported the death in the framework of military operations of an alleged member of the Francisco José Morelo Peñate Substructure, of the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
During the military operation, two alleged members of this GAO were in the same way arrested, one of them was injured during the confrontation, apparently he would be zone ringleader. He immediately received first aid from combat nurses and was subsequently taken to a departmental health care center, where he was finally put into custody of the authorities.
In the same way, it was possible to find important war material, 2 AK-47 rifles, a pistol with a magazine, 6 shotguns, ammunition of different calibers, 3 campaign equipment and 10 rifle magazines, elements used to intimidate the inhabitants and to support illegal activities in this department of Cesar region.
The Tenth Brigade reaffirms its commitment to security, maintaining permanent operations to dismantle groups that hit citizen tranquility.
