During a joint operation conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, in the rural area of Puerto Nemota, in Quibdó, department of Chocó, it was possible to capture four members of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo of the subgroup Carlos Vásquez.
Maintaining the operations against violence-generating agents who commit crimes in the department of Chocó, the operation was carried out against the GAO Clan del Golfo, in which Air Force aircraft and Army troops participated, who fought the members of this subgroup. Three rifles, magazines, military accessories for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and communications equipment were seized.
Accompanied by the Attorney General's Office, the Military Forces dealt the Clan del Golfo a heavy blow, since aliases Visaje, Guacho, Dubán and Alacrán were captured. That prevents terrorist operations planned to hit civilians and Military Forces.
