In a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find and destroy an illegal laboratory for the manufacture of coca base paste in the municipality of Cumaribo, Vichada.
In the course of this operation, it was possible to arrest four individuals in flagrante delicto for their alleged responsibility in the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotic drugs, as well as finding abundant solid and liquid precursors, in addition to materials used in the production of narcotic drugs, thus damaging the illicit activities of the Organized Armed Group, GAO in Spanish, ELN.
After the search of the material by the authorities, the destruction was carried out preventing damages to the environment in the department of Vichada; the arrested individuals were given to the Prosecutor's Office.
Thus, the Military Forces in the department of Vichada will continue to ensure the security of Colombians in the territory, striking decisively the criminal operations that hit the development and well-being of the inhabitants of the region.
