The destruction of illegal constructions for the production of drugs, the confiscation of large quantities of narcotics and war elements, as well as the arrest of members of criminal structures, are part of the results obtained through sustained operations carried out in the department of Putumayo.
The military operations conducted by the Sixth Division through the Twenty-Seventh Brigade, in the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, have been strategic for control in the border area with the Republic of Ecuador, preventing the transnationalization of drug trafficking, the powerful results against illicit activities and the armed component of organized armed groups, especially of the Structure 48 Comandos de Frontera, which commits crimes in the department of Putumayo in the municipalities of Orito, San Miguel, Puerto Leguizamo, Puerto Asís, La Hormiga and Guamuez Valley.
The sustained military operations of Colombian National Army have achieved, in the last 24 months, the elimination of 827 laboratories for the production of coca base paste and 8 of cocaine hydrochloride. In the same way, 513 kilograms of base paste, eight tons of cocaine hydrochloride and more than seven tons of marijuana have been found. 39 illegal refineries, 24 illegal mining units and 46 valves for the illicit extraction of fuels have in the same way been intervened, directly hitting the sources of illicit financing of the armed groups.
As for the impact of the operations on the armed component of these structures, the arrest of 43 people and the surrender to justice of 11 more have been confirmed, in addition to the confiscation of 49 firearms, 23,323 ammunition, 531 explosive devices.
