The Sixth Division of the National Army with the Faith in Colombia program, carried out strategies to strengthen the capabilities of military personnel who were wounded by antipersonnel mines and unexploded ordnance in the area of operations during the accomplishment of duty, held the first championship of soccer, called: Golombiao Héroes.

The competition counted on the participation of eight mixed teams, consisting of two women, two soldiers of the Humanitarian Demining Battalion No.1 'Teniente Coronel Alexander Vargas Castaño', two victims of these devices and a military lifeguard, last Weekend.

The sports event supported by the Directorate of Military Health was aimed at showing the active personnel of the institution, how these men, despite having lost a limb, have no limitations and see the practice of sports, an incentive to move forward.

The championship took place after a three-month process in which the acquisition of 23 uniforms for the Warriors Heroes de Paz Sports Club by a private company was managed and the rules were proposed by the participants themselves to generate ties of partnership and also to promote teamwork.
