With these results, the GAO Clan del Golfo stopped receiving more than one hundred million dollars from drug trafficking.

1884 kg of cocaine hydrochloride that would cost more than $ 113 million dollars were found by troops of the Navy of Colombia in the last few hours in Cartagena (Bol铆var), with two operations against organizations at the service of drug traffickers who commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean.

In the first operation, the Colombian Navy made the detection of a suspicious ship, which would have left Colombian shores apparently transporting narcotics. A rapid Reaction Unit of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station was immediately deployed to the area to carry out the maritime interception, however, upon realizing the work of the authorities, the individuals piloting the boat undertook escaped, leaving it abandoned; the boat was later found in Tierra Bomba, Cartagena (Bol铆var).

The ship was towed by the authorities to the facilities of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, where a complete inspection was carried out finding inside 18 sacks with 567 rectangular packages, which were subject of the Preliminary Identification Tests - PIPH - by the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI - of the Prosecutor's Office.  567 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found.

The second operation, which was carried out in conjunction and coordination with the Colombian Air Force and the National Police, was possible 35 nautical miles from Buoy Sea in Cartagena, where troops detected a container on board a ship heading to the Dominican Republic which had been allegedly contaminated. The crew of the Cartagena Coast Guard, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Police, carried out the inspection of the container, finding inside 46 sacks with 1,317 rectangular packages apparently with narcotic substances.

The illegal cargo, which would have as its final destination the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was taken to the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, where after carrying out the tests it was established that there were 1,317 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

In the course of the operations no arrests occurred, the material was put into custody of the authorities.

With these two heavy results, which exceed 1.8 tons of cocaine, more than 4.7 million doses were stopped being marketed on the international illegal market.

It should be noted that in 2022 the Caribbean Naval Force has found more than 59 tons of cocaine hydrochloride in this region of the country, representing losses of more than 2,000 million dollars for the finances of the Organized Armed Group GAO Clan del Golfo.
