A minor evacuated due to medical complications in the department of Valle del Cauca

Evacuado un menor de edad por complicaciones médicas en el Valle del Cauca

In 2025, the Naval Institution has rescued and evacuated 72 people, who have suffered emergencies at sea, in the Colombian Pacific.

The Colombian Navy, within the framework of naval operations, carried out the evacuation of a minor, who required urgent medical assistance, due to having a convulsive crisis; of the village of La Bocana, to Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.

After receiving the request, by the Police Station of the village where the emergency occurred, about the vulnerability of transferring the 14–year-old to a more complex medical center, for prompt assistance, the Naval Institution deployed a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR of the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, which went to the place, to embark the minor, accompanied by a family member and medical staff of the Military Forces

Later, they were taken to the Buenaventura pier, where an ambulance was waiting for them, to transport them to the Luis Ablanque de La Plata Hospital, where the minor received specialized medical assistance.
