At the Francisco del Rosario Vela Educational Institute, in Leticia, department of Amazonas, a Humanitarian Medical Assistance Activity was carried out, through inter-institutional coordination by the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Health Directorate of Leticia, with the purpose of providing comprehensive health care and humanitarian assistance to 1,778 people of the department.
This activity was possible thanks to the joint work of professionals and volunteers from organizations such as the Juan N. Corpas Foundation, the Fruto Bendito Foundation, the Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, Laproff Laboratories, FEDEGAN, the Colombian Air Force Reserve Officers Association, the Sentipensante Foundation and the Fernando Murillo Foundation, among others, who contributed with donations and services that strengthened the well-being of the community, bringing relief and concrete solutions to the inhabitants of this region of the country.
During the activity, indigenous and non-indigenous people benefited, who received specialized health services, distribution of medicines and humanitarian aid, reaching 2,519 assistances. This activity managed to bring essential services to vulnerable communities, contributing to the improvement of their quality of life and timely access to medical assistance. The Navy of the Republic of Colombia and Colombian National Army in the same way participated, as well as the support of the Ombudsman's Office and the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing – ICBF.
Through this type of initiatives, the Colombian Aerospace Force reaffirms its commitment to social development and the well-being of communities, strengthening inter-institutional coordination and consolidating its presence in the extreme south of the country, through events that promote health, solidarity and the construction of social fabric in the Amazon region.
