In a sustained operation against the residual organized armed groups, the Twenty-Seventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, report during the first quarter of the year, results of the military operation that directly hit the armed wing and the illicit finances of the outlaw structures in the department of Putumayo.
These operations were carried out within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, which led to significant blows to drug trafficking, with the seizure of 328 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and the destruction of 197 laboratories for the production of coca paste base, as well as the finding of 73 illegal hiding places, structurally weakening the logistical and narcotics production resources of these groups.
This heavy blow is in the same way reflected in the confiscation of 718 kilograms of coca paste base, 41,301 kilograms of coca leaf and 25,636 gallons of coca base in process, in addition to 30,527 kilograms of solid precursors and more than 88,000 gallons of liquid precursors, used for the production of narcotics, directly hitting their sources of financing.
In the armed component, the troops seized 2 long-range weapons, 11 small firearms and 367 ammunition, along with the elimination of 309 explosive devices and the seizure of 800 meters of detonating cord, reducing the terrorist capacity and protecting the inhabitants.
In the same way, the operations led to the organization of 76 arrests and 5 surrenders to justice, contributing to the dismantling of criminal networks in the region.
In parallel, the Brigade carried out powerful acts in defense of the environment, with the intervention of 15 illegal mining production units and reforestation processes, the Twenty-Seventh Brigade has planted more than 200,000 native specimens, mitigating the ecological damage generated by these illicit activities.
Other relevant results include the seizure of 3500 kilograms of marijuana and 7496 gallons of fuel.
These results reflect not only the policy of zero tolerance with corruption, but in the same way the commitment, discipline and permanent work of the soldiers of the Twenty-Seventh Brigade, who continue to carry out sustained military operations to weaken criminal structures and work for the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of the department of Putumayo.
