In order to face the blockades on the roads that connect the capital city of Valle del Cauca, with the different municipalities, complying with the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19, the Colombian Air Force arranged air its resources, to transport 22,089 vaccines to the municipalities of Tuluá, Buga, Zarzal, La Unión, Roldanillo, Versalles, El Dovio and Bolívar.

Transportation was a priority to ensure the continuity of the second stage of vaccination, thanks to the air transport; it was possible to distribute them quickly to the municipal health authorities, for administration in accordance with the protocols.

The vaccines were received in refrigerated boxes that secured the cold chain and were immediately boarded on the helicopter to their destination, where they were waiting to be transported to the vaccination centers; on the flights 1,025 rapid tests of COVID-19 were in the same way transported.

The Colombian Air Force continues to work in coordination with the different state institutions, contributing its air resources so that vaccination activities can be carried out and the risk of contagion in southwestern Colombia can be mitigated.
