On board a UH-60 helicopter of the Colombian Aerospace Force, a successful personnel recovery mission was carried out, in which it was possible to find and rescue 34 people including women, children and elderly, victims of the sudden rising of the Ariari River in the department of Meta.
Heeding once again the call of the community, this time, in the municipality of El Dorado, Meta, a place where dozens of people were trapped by the rushing waters, a rescue mission was deployed by the Air Combat Command No. 2 in Villavicencio, using a UH-60 helicopter, the crews, through night vision goggles, found the beaten at several points where it was impossible for them to leave.
In coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD and the coordination of the National Personnel Recovery Center - CENRP - with the civil authorities and regional rescue institutions, experts in this field of the Colombian Aerospace Force, extracted them of the risk area, transporting them safely to the soccer field of the urban area of the municipality, where they were expected by relief agencies and people to provide medical assistance.
In this way, the Colombian Aerospace Force reacts in a timely manner 24 hours a day, using its resources at the service of the inhabitants, especially in emergency situations
