Continuing with the efforts to strengthen the well-being of vulnerable elderly adults in the department of Valle del Cauca, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the Air Combat Command No. 7, and with the support of Colombian pharmaceutical companies, made a significant donation of 18,680 diapers to two institutions in the city of Cali.
This distribution will directly benefit the 340 elderly people housed at the San Miguel Geriatric Hospital and the Jesica Portillo Geriatric Home, where these elderly people currently receive different care to improve their quality of life.
These institutions in the same way welcome elderly residents who are homeless or abandoned, in order to provide comprehensive care not only to those who have a physical capacity that leads them to be independent, but in the same way to dependents and those who are in palliative care.
The supplies distributed to the two centers are part of the basic necessities in these homes since they are items of daily and constant use to provide comfort to those who use them, in addition to helping them keep the skin clean and dry, which is essential to prevent infections or rashes.
The Comprehensive operation Sections of the Colombian Aerospace Force will continue to carry out social responsibility activities that positively impact people in vulnerable conditions, promoting a permanent rapprochement with the most unprotected sectors, at the same time strengthening strategic alliances with public and private institutions to improve the quality of life of those who need it most.
