In order to face the serious situation caused by intense rains in the departments of Bolívar and Atlántico that have caused more than 80 emergencies, the National Government in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management-UNGRD- and the National Personnel Recovery Center- CNRP of the Colombian Air Force arranged the necessary help to provide emergency support in these areas of the country.

Reacting immediately, the Military Transport Air Command, (CATAM), sent the Hercules C-130, and a Cassa C-295 to quickly and timely transport the more than 34 tons of humanitarian aid to these regions of the country.

For two consecutive days, flying more than 10 hours, CATAM transported the cargo made up of food kits that were distributed in order to alleviate a little the situation that dozens of families are going through.

In the same way, in the early hours of this Friday, a Boeing 737 was sent to transport, immediately, to the Ernesto Cortissoz Airport, in the department of the Atlantic, 450 food kits and 380 night kits made up of blankets and mats that will be distributed among those hit by this wave caused by rains.
