More than 350 indigenous people from El Remanso, in Guain铆a, benefited from inter-agency activity

More than 350 indigenous people from El Remanso in Guain铆a benefited from development support activities of the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, the Government of Guain铆a and the mayor of In铆rida, who carried out a two-day Development Support Activity in the El Remanso Indigenous community, in the municipality of In铆rida, Guain铆a.

 

This activity, counted on the work of the TIC Minister, Karen Abudinen Abuchaibe, and the representatives of the main mobile operators in the region, sought to verify firsthand the quality of the connectivity in the area and provide the necessary alternatives to improve the mobile phone service and stable connectivity for the region.

 

In order to provide digital tools for the education of the children of El Remanso School, 25 portable computers and five tablets were distributed with the necessary connectivity for its proper operation.

 

In addition, through the departmental Health Secretariat, 679 general medicine consultations, dentistry and psychology services were provided, medicines were distributed and talks were held on the correct use of biosecurity elements to prevent the contagion and spread of COVID19; gender equity, older adults and prenatal control.

 

The special group of Strategic Operations of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.50 distributed 45 boots and 45 sweaters to the indigenous guard, as well as recreational workshops on the use of natural resources for economic development.

 

It should be noted that this activity benefited more than 350 people who make up the El Remanso Indigenous community, who actively participated in the activities and thanked government institutions for their support for this community.
