In response to the emergency caused by the intense rains affecting the department of Boyacá, the Colombian Aerospace Force, in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, UNGRD, deployed its air resources to transport Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to the municipality of Cubará, one of the territories most affected by the current rainy season.
The operation managed to transfer about 3.8 tons of humanitarian aid, consisting of 211 food baskets, 211 toilet kits and 50 housing kits, supplied by the UNGRD and the Colombian Civil Defense, in order to provide immediate support to the vulnerable families. For the mission, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Angel configuration was used, which made two flights between Yopal, Casanare department, and the municipality of Cubará, by completing the timely distribution of assistance.
The Air Institution facilitate access to an area of difficult communication by land, contributing to the coordinated response of the State and enabling humanitarian aid to reach the affected communities in the shortest possible time.
The Colombian Aerospace Force is constant in its commitment to support the actions of the National System for Disaster Risk Management, putting its military operation resources at the service of Colombians and contributing to the protection of life and well-being of communities facing emergency situations.
