According to preliminary investigations, the material found would be used for drug production and illegal mining activities.
Within the framework of search and control operations carried out by the Colombian Navy, jointly with Colombian National Army, in the departments of Antioquia, Cesar and Bolívar, it was possible to immobilize liquid and solid supplies that would be used for the production of illicit substances and that would have a cost of more than four billion pesos.
The operations, conducted by the Navy Infantry River Battalions No.16 and 17 in the municipality of La Gloria, in Cesar, Pinillos, in Bolívar and Vigía del Fuerte in Antioquia, led to the immobilization of more than 39 thousand gallons of DIESEL, approximately 32 thousand gallons of gasoline and 88 tons of cement, spoiling the logistics chain of organizations serving drug trafficking.
The material, which apparently would be used for drug production and illegal mining activities, was being transported without the certificates for the management of controlled chemical substances, so it was immobilized and put into custody of the authorities.
