Deep in the rural area of the municipality of Ibagué, the people of the Tapias village experienced an unprecedented activity, in response to an invitation made by its inhabitants, and thanks to the coordination conducted by public and private institutions, the Air Combat Command No. 4 of the Colombian Aerospace Force participated in a Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Activity, which brought health, well-being and hope to more than 400 people.
The initiative, coordinated with the Mayor's Office of Ibague, integrated inter-institutional efforts that led to provide care in general medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, psychology, legal advice, hairdressing and veterinary medicine, in addition to vaccination and blood glucose testing services.
One of the most touching operations of the activity was the distribution of four wheelchairs donated by the Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, which will now transform the mobility and quality of life of older adults of the village, in addition, thanks to the commitment of the AV Villas Bank, 200 school kits and toys were distributed to the attendees, strengthening their access to education and recreation. In the same way, Droguerías Colsubsidio linked to the distribution of essential medicines, while TENA contributed with personal care and well-being supplies, in turn, the Cooperative University of Colombia and the USI added human talent in health and logistical support, demonstrating that when institutions come together, it is possible to bring concrete solutions to the most remote territories.
The activity in the same way included the distribution of trees for reforestation and veterinary medicines, benefiting not only people, but in the same way their companion animals. 425 people and 119 animals received care.
