With the firm purpose of contributing to the social development of the communities in the southeast of the country, the Colombian Aerospace Force led a Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Activity, which led to bringing health and wellbeing services to urban, rural and ethnic villages that do not have regular access to specialized medical assistance.
Men and women came to the School Campo Elías Marulanda, in the municipality of Solano, Caquetá, to receive care in specialties such as pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, dermatology and internal medicine, among others. The activity in the same way included the distribution of medicines, promotional and prevention activities, psychological support and more than 5,000 donations such as clothing, iPads, wheelchairs, suitcases, bicycles and non-perishable food.
From a C-130 Hercules aircraft that came from Bogotá to the Air Combat Command No. 6, in Tres Esquinas, Caquetá, and later, through a river route along the waters of the Orteguaza River, the transfer of personnel members of the Military Forces, non-members of the Military Forces, health professionals and humanitarian aid to the municipality of Solano was carried out.
Thanks to the inter-institutional work carried out conducted by the Caquetá Governorate, the Mayor's Office of Solano, Colombian National Army, the National Navy, the El Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, Colsubsidio drug stores, the League for the Fight against Cancer, Humanitarian Payatives and the Colombian Federation of Livestock Farmers, this activity provided more than 1,000 free medical care to people living in rural areas who see in these operations a real opportunity to improve their quality of life.
