Through these findings, the entry of more than 82 million dollars to drug trafficking organizations and the distribution of 5.4 million doses on the streets of the world were prevented.
The strength of the Colombian Navy's military operation conducted by its maritime and air units, with international support, in the Colombian Pacific has led to the finding and interception of four ships in which 4.2 tons of narcotics were transported, including are cocaine hydrochloride and marijuana.
On board the intercepted ships in the north, central and South Pacific, 12 men were arrested, who were transporting the narcotic. In the operations, there was support from an international Unit aircraft and in another with the tracking and pursuit by a helicopter of the Colombian Navy that was sent to the area to intercept the boat whose crew members were planning to flee.
At sea, the crew members and the drug were transported aboard a Colombian Navy ship to the ports of Buenaventura and Tumaco, where the judicial authorities conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Tests – PIPH - on the packages, determining the type of narcotic.
These operations are complemented by 26 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were detected by divers of the Colombian Navy; the 26 kilos were hidden underwater on a Liberian-flagged merchant ship, in the port of the District of Buenaventura, which had arrived from Cartagena and would make transit to Peru. The drug found in two sacks was put into custody of the authorities.
Thus, in recent days, the Colombian Navy in the Colombian Pacific has made the finding of 2,008 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 2,268 kilograms of marijuana, adding 4,276 kilograms of narcotics.
Through these findings, more than 82 million dollars were prevented from entering drug trafficking organizations, resulting of the sale of the drug on the international illegal market, as well as the distribution of approximately 5.4 million doses on the streets of the world.
