The drug would cost more than 300 million pesos in the illicit market.
Impacting the drug trafficking chain, soldiers of the Battalion of Combat Engineers N° 4 General Pedro Nel Ospina, of the Fourth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reported the finding of a complex for the production of marijuana in the village La Lana, municipality of San Pedro de los Milagros, department of Antioquia.
A greenhouse used for the planting and production of marijuana, a drying room used for the production and dosing of the narcotic, as well as 800 kilograms of marijuana were found by troops in this complex. The material found was put into custody of the Judicial Police of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
Through this result, the finances of the Edwin Román Velásquez Valle Substructure, of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in this area of the department and apparently produced about 800 kilograms of marijuana per month, are hit.
This operation was carried out thanks to military intelligence and inter-institutional cooperation, which prevented the narcotic from being distributed and marketed in the illicit trade of the Antioquia department.
Colombian National Army will continue to carry out all military operations that contribute to the protection of the inhabitants and the stabilization of the territory, neutralizing the criminal operations of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Antioquia.
