In the fulfillment of tasks of stability and territorial control over the municipalities of the department of Cauca, especially Caloto and Paez, it was possible to deal forceful blows to the illegal activities of organized armed groups.
The first event occurred in the rural area of Paez, Cauca, where troops of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade of the National Army found about a ton of marijuana distributed in 120 packages, which was ready to be transported to the departments of Huila and Putumayo.
According to military intelligence information, some 800 and 1,000 kilos of marijuana were packed in this improvised collection center per month, whose value on the illicit market would be three million dollars.
In the same way, near the village Guabito and the village Nilo, rural area of the municipality of Caloto, Cauca, soldiers of the National Army with the support of the Aerospace Force, found two structures used for the production of creepy type marijuana.
In these two sites, the Military Forces found about three tons of this narcotic, in addition they destroyed the rudimentary systems that helped individuals to storage and drying the drug. As it could be established, these heavy blows in the municipality of Caloto would hit the drug trafficking groups by 1200 million pesos.
Finally, in the rural area of Corinto, one more ton of this narcotic was found by the troops when they were carrying out security tasks aimed at preventing the criminal operations of the illegal armed groups.
All this drug was given to the authorities.
