This result prevented the distribution of 2.6 million doses of the drug on the streets of the world.
Among those arrested are two Colombians and a Nicaraguan.
The Colombian Navy, within the framework of comprehensive maritime security and control operations in the Colombian Pacific, found and intercepted a ship when it was sailing at high speed in the Valle del Cauca, transporting more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride.
The ship was found by the maritime units in the area, and immediately a Coast Guard boat made the interception. During the visit and procedure, the military found three individuals on board, two Colombians and a Nicaraguan, who were carrying several sacks of different sizes, which is why they were transported to the Buenaventura Special District in the Valle del Cauca.
Upon arrival at the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station, the individuals, the illegal merchandise and the ship were put into custody of the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office, who conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test – PIPH to the packages, determining that it was 1,039 kilograms cocaine hydrochloride.
Through this finding, the Colombian Navy prevented the entry of more than 35 million dollars to drug trafficking organizations and the distribution of 2.6 million doses on the streets of the world.
