As part of sea control operations in Colombian Caribbean waters, the Colombian Navy seized more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride in Cartagena - Bol铆var area.

Coast Guard crews intercepted a Go Fast type ship after its detection and tracking. The individuals who crewed it, noticing the work of the naval units of the Colombian Navy attached to the Caribbean Naval Force conducted evasive maneuvers and left an indeterminate amount of sacks with alleged hallucinogenic substance to the sea, changing course and laying the boat near Punta de Broqueles in C贸rdoba, fleeing the place.

At sea, Coast Guard units recovered 44 bags, which were taken to the Coast Guard Station in Cartagena, where members of the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, which left positive result for 1,108 kilograms of cocaine.

With this finding, the Colombian Navy disturbed the finances of transnational crime organizations by approximately 36.5 million dollars, in the same way it prevented the drug from being marketed on the streets of the world.

The material found was put into custody of the authorities.
