More than two and a half tons of narcotics found in the Colombian Pacific

Incautadas más de dos toneladas y media de estupefacientes en el Pacífico colombiano

As part of the comprehensive maritime control and security operations carried out by the Colombian Navy, two ships were intercepted in which drug trafficking organizations were planning to transport 2,563 kilograms of narcotics, in the department of Valle del Cauca.

In the first operation, units of the Colombian Navy that were conducting control operations in the area, inspected a boat manned by two men of Ecuadorian nationality, in which they found several hidden pressed packages, apparently with cocaine hydrochloride, a rifle, a magazine, 25 cartridges and various communication equipment.

In the second boat, which was crewed by three individuals, two of them of Ecuadorian nationality and one Colombian, the military personnel found 49 sacks of different shapes and sizes, which by their characteristics and smell would resemble marijuana.

The Colombian sailors transported the personnel, elements and the boats to the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, where the Technical Investigation Staff of the Prosecutor's Office, carried out the Approved Preliminary Initial Test - PIPH, determining that 1,346 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were traveling on the first boat and 1,217 kilograms of marijuana on the second boat. The individuals were put into custody of to the authorities for prosecution.

Through this finding, more than 53 million dollars were prevented from entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations.
