Since the night before, Army troops in support of the National Police escorted a caravan of 14 cattle truckers traveling to Bogotá.
The National Army in southeastern colombia has been engaged to support to the civil authority in the departments of Meta, Guaviare and Vaupés, through different operations in coordination with the National Police, to support the inhabitants, so that they can carry out their economic activities with total peace of mind and confidence in the territory of Meta and into the interior of the country.
There are 1,500 men on the roads, accompanying the National Police, protecting strategic assets, road routes, tolls and municipalities; protecting institutions and the community, during the activity of protests and demonstrations.
Since the previous night, The military has ensured and facilitated at different points the transit of a caravan with 17 trucks traveling from the Department of Guaviare, passing through the Department of Meta, to the city of Bogotá. The soldiers escorted the roads to the southeast, so that the productive groups of the agricultural, livestock and fuel sectors could transport their products to the collection centers of the capital city.
The National Army is the guarantor of the security of Colombians, accompanying citizens with its resources and its total work so that peasants, merchants and transporters can continue to work for the progress and development of a prosperous and thriving country.
