The individual would be the right-hand man of alias Ivan Mordisco and would have interference in the departments of Guaviare and Vaupés.
In the framework of military operations and in inter-institutional coordination, troops of the Thirty-First Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Colombian Aerospace Force, and in coordination with the Sijín of the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, reported the arrest by judicial order of an alleged member of a residual organized armed group.
The procedure was carried out in the Chinauta sector, municipality of Fusagasugá, department of Cundinamarca, where alias el Mono was arrested.
According to the authorities, this individual was working as a militia ringleader and the right-hand man of alias “Ivan Mordisco”, fulfilling functions as a logistical coordinator, in charge of collecting money from extortion against and illegal recruitment in the departments of Vaupés and Guaviare.
The arrested person must face charges of association to commit aggravated crimes, illegal recruitment and manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts and ammunition.
During the procedure a cellphone was seized, which will be the object of analysis within the investigative process.
The arrested was put into custody of the authorities to continue with the respective judicial process.
