In a coordinated operation with the National Police, troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion N.° 24 General Camacho Leyva and the Battalion of Urban Forces N.° 4, reported in the urban area of the municipality of Calamar, department of Guaviare, the arrest by judicial order of an individual wanted by the authorities.
According to intelligence information, alias Garrote, a member of the FARC dissidents, under the command of alias Ivan Mordisco, would be allegedly responsible for multiple criminal acts in this area of the country. Among them, he is charged with the terrorist attack with a motorbike bomb, perpetrated last July 4, in the main park of Calamar, which left six military and three civilians injured. In addition, he would be linked to the collection of money from extortion and the pressure on the inhabitants to go against the Military Forces in this region of the department of Guaviare.
The operation was carried out under strict security protocols and with full respect for fundamental rights, reaffirming the commitment of Colombian National Army to the protection of the inhabitants and the consolidation of security in the southeast of the country.
This result is part of the operation of the military operation against organized armed groups outlaw and their support networks, weakening their criminal resources and preventing them from continuing to harm communities.
