The arrested man, known as Negro Uber, is accused of allegedly stimulating illegal activities in the border area and strengthening this structure in the south of the country.
In the framework of sustained military operations aimed at protecting the inhabitants and weakening the structures of the residual organized armed groups, troops of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 12, of the Twelfth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reported the arrest by judicial order, of an alleged ringleader, in the department of Caquetá.
The operation was carried out in the urban area of the municipality of Florencia, where an individual known as Negro Uber was arrested, accused of being member of the GAO-r Comandos de Frontera Structure and head of the La Paya Mobile Unit, with criminal interference in strategic areas of the Putumayo department, especially in areas near the border.
According to the investigations carried out by the judicial authorities, this individual would have had a criminal experience of approximately nine years within the illegal organization, in which he would have played different roles until reaching leadership positions, from where he coordinated activities related to drug trafficking, firearms trafficking, the control of illicit routes and the logistical strengthening of the structure.
In the same way, he would be linked to the planning and execution of terrorist acts against the Military Forces, as well as recruitment activities and territorial expansion in rural areas, hitting the security and tranquility of communities.
The arrested man is wanted for the crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes and manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms. His arrest contributes to the weakening of the command, control and financing resources of this structure, as well as to the reduction of its criminal acts in the southern region of the country.
In the same way, this result contributes to the reduction of instability factors in the area, hitting the illicit activities that affect ecosystems and governance in strategic territories of the Colombian Amazon.
The man was put into custody of the authority to conduct in his judicial process.
