After intelligence activities, framed in the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Omega Task Force, of Colombian National Army, engaged combats against members of the Marco Aurelio Buendía Structure, of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Block, and made the finding of 38 packages of cocaine hydrochloride.
The events took place in the village of San Pedro, municipality of Puerto Rico, department of Meta, when soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Force Nº 11 began the maneuver to carry out the military operation. Noticing the activity of the troops, members of this group fled in vehicles firing at the members of the Military Forces, so there the combat started.
A member of the support network of the Marco Aurelio Buendía structure, of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, was arrested at the scene. He was guarding the hiding place where 38 sealed packages were found by troops, which tested positive as cocaine hydrochloride, according to the test carried out by the National Police.
This individual was arrested and evacuated along with the confiscated material by air with the support of Colombian National Army Aviation to San José del Guaviare, where he was put into custody of the authorities.
The Omega Task Force invites the inhabitants to report any strange or irregular situation through the Anti-Terrorism Line 107. These operations help to neutralize the expansion of illicit drug trafficking activities.
In the same way, it reaffirms its commitment in the Colombian southeast, where the troops continue carrying out operations that strengthen territorial security.
