This is alias Almir, who was allegedly in charge of coordinating criminal activities for the illegal financing of this group, as well as providing security to alias Jhon Mechas, main ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 33.
The military operation was possible thanks to an intelligence work in the frame of the Esparta Military and Police campaign, where the National Army and units of the Criminal Investigation Section of the National Police of Norte de Santander, made the arrest of this ringleader, who took refuge in the rural area of the municipality of La Gabarra, municipality of Tib煤, after fleeing the Antioquia region preventing the military operations that are carried out in the area.
Alias Almir, 42 years old, he would have been a criminal for more than ten years, and he would be in charge of providing the security of alias Jhon Mechas, main leader of Gaor-E33, in the same way this man would have belonged to the extinct Farc-Ep, beginning his criminal record in different criminal structures of the former Magdalena Medio Bloc.
Note that this offender in the month of may of 2021, in El Bagre, Antioquia, led a terrorist operation whose result in the death of one of our soldiers, and three more were injured. Alias Almir conducted campaigns of intimidation against social leaders in the municipality of San Pablo, South of Bolivar.
Thanks to this decisive operation, the residual GAO-Structure 4, suffers a significant structural loss that forces it to modify the terrorist plans within its armed component and so troops could block the criminal projection of territorial expansion that these organized armed groups intend to conduct for control of drug trafficking.
