Troops of the Sixth Division arrived in the village El Guamo, with the purpose of protecting the inhabitants and providing support in the Early Warning 023 of 2024, issued by the Ombudsman's Office.
The Twelfth Brigade, using all its resources, was deployed in the village El Guamo, municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá, with the aim of strengthening the security of the inhabitants and consolidating territorial control. To do this, it carried out a strategic organization of his units, inserting platoons with the specific mission of protecting the lives of civilians.
About 100 soldiers were transported by Colombian National Army aviation, with the support of an Air Force helicopter. This deployment is aimed at safeguarding the inhabitants against possible clashes conducted by the Jorge Suárez Briceño Block, aligned with the Rodrigo Cadete and Raúl Reyes structures and the so-called Calarcá Wings, against the Manuel Marulanda Vélez Amazonas Block, together with the Carolina Ramírez Structure and the Jhonier Arenas Group, aligned with Iván Mordisco.
These illegal armed groups are threatening the inhabitants, recruiting minors, generating forced displacements, confinement and possible collective murders due to apparent links with these structures.
