The smuggled merchandise was apparently from Ecuador, and was going to be marketed in the department of Huila.
In a territorial control operation, troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 27 Magdalena, the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through a checkpoint on the I-45 highway, in the village of El Cedro, of Pitalito, Huila, in a truck, they found 290 boxes containing about 5000 toys items of different types.
This merchandise, which did not have the legal documentation sought for its transportation and commercialization in the territory, was being transported from the municipality of Mocoa, Putumayo. It was going to be commercialized inside the department of Huila, significantly damaging the legal trade, so through this result the finances of the smuggling networks in the region are weakened, since these elements would cost approximately 135 million pesos.
These merchandises were put into custody of the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (DIAN) for the corresponding proceedings. It is in this way that Colombian National Army contributes to the protection of the legal economy of the department of Huila, working to promote the development and progress of the region.
