Through this action, the risk to the inhabitants has been reduced and security in the municipality is strengthened.
As part of military operations aimed at protecting the inhabitants, soldiers of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 24, of the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade, carried out the controlled destruction of an unexploded explosive device, in the municipality of Calamar, department of Guaviare.
The action was carried out by the Explosives and Demolitions team, which after verifying the security conditions of the area proceeded to carry out the controlled destruction of the device in the facilities of the Calamar Police Station, thus preventing possible damages to the people and the authorities in the sector.
This type of elements represents a high risk to the life and integrity of the inhabitants, so the timely intervention of specialized personnel managed to safely neutralize this threat.
The Fourth Division of Colombian National Army will continue to carry out military operations of territorial control in the department of Guaviare, with the purpose of protecting the communities and contributing to the security and stability of the region.
