The finding of these facilities for production, storage and rest areas generated an economic loss to the GAO ELN in 14,877 million pesos. During the operation, heavy fighting was reported against members of this criminal organization.
Troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, in coordination and support for the prosecution with the National Police, in the villages of Morretón, municipality of Durania, and San Isidro, in San Cayetano, department of Norte de Santander, found 9 rudimentary structures destined by the organized armed group, GAO, ELN, Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front, for the production of drugs.
The finding of the facilities corresponding to 2 laboratories for the production of illicit substances made up of 9 structures, led the troops to confiscate 1,945 kg of cocaine hydrochloride and its derivatives.
During the operation, the soldiers of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade No. 02 in the same way found 655 kg of solid supplies; 910 gallons of suspended cocaine hydrochloride and 1,734 gallons of chemical components, including N-propyl acetate, sulfuric acid, acetone and gasoline. In the same way, elementary machinery and equipment to obtain the narcotic were found by troops.
According to military intelligence information, it was established that the two laboratories had a monthly production capacity of one and a half tons of drugs, which would be shipped out of the country through the Caribbean and marketed in Europe.
Through this military operation, CONAT will again hit the sources of illicit financing of the GAO ELN, with losses estimated at 14,877 million pesos.
