The troops continue to damage in a certain way the finances of the illegal organizations that commit crimes in this important region of the country.
Within the framework of operations framed in the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Twenty-Third Brigade of Colombian National Army carried out the finding and controlled destruction of a laboratory and seedbed for the production of coca paste base belonging apparently to organized armed groups that commit crimes in the rural area of the municipality of Ancuya, department of Nariño.
During the military operation, 1,200 kg of chopped coca leaf, 1,400 coca leaf seedlings, more than 400 gallons of liquid supplies, 200 kg of solid supplies and other items used for the production of the drug were destroyed in a controlled conditions and with all the security protocols.
Through this result, the troops weaken the finances of the organized armed group that focuses its criminal operations on the problem of drug trafficking, taking into account that it is estimated that the economic damage would amount to approximately 30 million pesos.
This is how the flow of money that finances criminal operations against the inhabitants and the Military Forces is limited and, additionally, it was possible to recover the spaces occupied by these illegal constructions, which they build at the expense of the deforestation of natural areas.
Colombian National Army will continue to carry out military operations aimed at combating illicit activities and other factors of instability that put at risk the security of the communities in this area of the department of Nariño.
